Biography: ALEXANDER TAYLOR graduated B.A. from Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1852, and proceeded M.A. in 1855. He was appointed a Chaplain in 1861. He served at Kamptee and Nagpore from 1861 to 1872, when he was appointed Domestic Chaplain to Bishop Gell. In the following year he was killed by a fall from his horse at Wellington on the Nilgiri Hills. His many friends erected a stained-glass window to his memory in the Church at Coonoor.
