Biography: JOHN JOHNSON was born in England in 1815. He was at the C.M. College, Islington, from 1835 to 1837, when he was appointed Assistant Master at Cottayam College in Travancore. He was ordained deacon in 1842, and priest in 1843, by the Bishop of Madras, and died at Cottayam in 1846, after a service of 8 years. He married a daughter of the Rev. H. Baker, Senior. His son was afterwards incumbent of Christ Church, Madras.
