Biography: ROBERT RUST MEADOWS was born in England in 1829. He was a Scholar of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, and graduated B.A. in 1852 as Senior Optime. In the same year he was ordained deacon by the Bishop of London and went to Madras. He assisted T. G. Kagland and his friend David Fenn to found the North Tinnevelly mission, including the Christian village of Sachiapuram. He retired in 1878 and became later Rector of Thurning in Norfolk.
