Biography: DANIEL PAUL was a Tinnevelly convert from Hinduism, who was of the Shanar caste. He was baptized by Rhenius. After training at the Palamcottah Institution, he worked as a Catechist among those of his own former caste. He was ordained deacon in 1856, and priest in 1859. He was stationed at Mengnanapuram to assist the Rev. J. Thomas, by whom he was greatly esteemed as a gifted and devoted evangelist. He died in 1860.
