Biography: FRANCIS FORDYCE he was educated at the University of Aberdeen. He is described in the entrance book as Murraviensis, i.e. a native of the shire of Moray. He joined the University class in 1725, and graduated M.A. in 1728 (P. J. Anderson's Roll of Alumni). He is not mentioned in the Fordyce Family Record by Alexander Dingwall. An examination of the Composition Book in the Record Office shows that he became Vicar of Eastwood, Essex, in 1763.
