Biography: CHARLES JOSIAH TAYLOR was a Eurasian, born in Madras in 1800. After training at the C.M. Institution, Madras, he was employed by the Society in 1839 as a catechist at Mayaveram. He was ordained deacon in 1844, and priest in 1845, by the Bishop of Madras, and stationed at Salem, where he died in 1851.
